The action takes place in 1976 during the Cold War. The player takes on the role of an administrator who is given the task of constructing a secret underwater research station. Its goal is to develop human cloning technology and conduct experiments on marine fauna and flora. All these studies have a military purpose: their purpose is to give our superiors a military advantage over their rivals.

However, achieving success will not be easy. In the darkness of the sea there lurks a supernatural evil that is just waiting for us to stumble. Surviving the Abyss Download for PC is a strategy in which we deal with the management of an underwater base. During the game we have to expand it with new structures, get resources and take care of the crew.

The player must plan the development of the base, construct new segments and create supporting infrastructure, including m.in. tunnels and cables providing electricity. The bottom of the ocean is highly varied, which makes it difficult to expand and often forces to put subsequent sections of the base vertically.

The management of the crew is also crucial. We need to organize their work, which includes sourcing raw materials and materials, conducting biological experiments and improving technology. In addition, all subordinates have their own needs, which we must meet. Working in the depths of the sea is stressful and if we do not take care of the mental health of employees, they may even go crazy.

Surviving the Abyss Download for PC has a fully three-dimensional graphic frame. The game offers only single player mode.
