Jusant takes us on a journey to a fantastic world. During the game you play as a young man who decides to climb a giant tower, towering over the whole land, in order to discover the secrets of its builders – representatives of an ancient, past civilization. Our ward is not alone, for he is accompanied by a water creature known as ballast, which, contrary to its name, is extremely useful.
At Jusant, we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). Climbing to the top of the powerful tower, we pass a variety of biomes – from Rocky, through wind and rain and overgrown with lush vegetation, ending with ice-bound and snow-covered. Along the way, there are also caves bathed in darkness waiting to be penetrated, as well as ancient ruins where you can stumble upon mysterious devices.
The climb itself is not easy, because it involves careful monitoring of the condition of the protagonist; the latter makes us stop from time to time to provide our ward with a moment of respite. In addition, we must look around in search of paths that allow us to continue the vertical journey, as well as skillfully use the available equipment. Anchors and ropes located at the hero’s doorstep not only protect him from falling from a high height, but also allow him to overcome the abyss and other obstacles encountered along the way.
Ballast deserves a separate mention, because the water creature not only provides the protagonist with company, but also serves him with its support, giving him clues and Awakening Nature on his way.
