In Anew, we play a child who one day wakes up alone on a moon orbiting an alien planet twenty light-years from Earth. Our task is to perform a special mission and find a way back home.
Anew is a platformer in which the graphics have numerous 3D elements, but the gameplay mechanisms themselves have remained two-dimensional. The production puts a lot of emphasis on fighting with firearms, and the control system allows you to aim freely, regardless of the direction of movement. The creators have prepared a large selection of weapons and an extensive gallery of opponents, the defeat of which requires the use of a variety of tactics.
The game world has an open structure, and its exploration takes place both on foot and with the help of several types of vehicles. During the game it is necessary to collect a variety of items that allow you to unlock new weapons, gadgets and skills. The authors drew inspiration from the category of platformers called metroidvania, so at the beginning of the game a lot of sections are unavailable and we can return to them only after getting useful improvements.
