Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is an adventure game maintained in the convention of Lovecraft horror. The project is a full-fledged remake of the production released in 2006 under the same title. Behind the development of this position is the Ukrainian studio Frogwares, to which the Sherlock Holmes series has brought recognition around the world.

The story of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened begins a few years after the events of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One. The title character rents a small apartment with his roommate – John Watson. A detective solves the mystery of a young man’s disappearance. Although the case initially seems trivial, Holmes and his companion quickly discover that a mysterious and dangerous cult is involved. The members of the latter worship forces from another world, much older and more powerful than one might imagine. Our charges must do everything they can to thwart the evil plans of the cult before it is too late… or before they completely lose their minds, learning more and more frightening details about the cult.
Although the plot of the game is based on the pillars erected by the prototype, the authors decided to make various changes to make it a direct continuation of the story from the game Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One. In addition, the creators decided to highlight the issue of the origins of the acquaintance and cooperation of Holmes and Watson, who only after the events presented here became inseparable companions.
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened takes place from a third-person perspective (TPP). The adventure takes us through several locations with a semi-open structure, which we can freely navigate, looking for tips or side orders. We are talking about Victorian London, The Black Edelweiss hospital for the insane in Switzerland, the swamps of Louisiana and New Orleans, and the coast of Scotland. Although the main character of the game remains Sherlock Holmes, in certain moments we have the opportunity to direct his friend-Dr. Watson.
