The game takes place during the Second World War and focuses on the areas located around the eponymous Mius front, a heavily fortified defensive line built by the Germans on the Mius River.
The campaign consists of two large-scale operations conducted in the summer of 1943; each of them can be played out both in command of the Red Army and the Wehrmacht. Both operations are also completely dynamic: instead of rigid scripted scenarios, events shape the decisions of the advanced AI module and its response to our actions.
In Graviteam Tactics Mius-Front Download, a virtual war is fought on two levels. The first of these is an operating mode in which m.in. we move entire armies, take care of supplies and change and replenish units. The second is the tactical mode, in which in real time we command the Army during battles. For the creators, realism was an absolute priority. In the campaign, we can fight on 140 square kilometers of a real battlefield, faithfully recreated on the basis of maps and historical records.
The authors made sure that all vehicles in the game behave as in reality, including the damage system, under which individual parts can be destroyed. The ballistics of the missiles are controlled by a powerful physical engine, taking into account even such aspects as wind and air temperature. In addition, each soldier is described by a large set of parameters affecting his behavior, such as experience, fitness or morale.
Almost every element of the environment can be destroyed, and all changes to the maps remain on them until the end of the campaign. The game also uses simulation of the daily cycle and changing weather.
